2018-2019 Money Matters Ambassador

2015-2016 Money Matters Ambassador
Eric C.

High school senior Eric has big dreams and the determination to achieve them. While preparing for a future studying nursing at the University of Nevada, Eric knew that sound money management would be a critical part of the journey. He was determined to learn how to save money, set financial goals and balance a school budget, and he jumped at the chance to learn these skills from an experienced adult as part of the Money Matters program at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.

Since graduating from the program, Eric has swapped liberal spending patterns for smart saving habits. He set up a new bank account to reserve a portion of every paycheck for college. After seeing personal improvement from the program, Eric was eager to share his newly acquired Money Matters learnings with his sisters and classmates. Now as the National Ambassador for the program, Eric hopes to inspire and motivate other youth to learn what it takes to be financially fit at any age.

Eric is well prepared for his new role as National Ambassador. Prior to the Money Matters program, Eric served as a role model for his peers as Senior Class Representative and MyPath Peer Leader at his high school. He's also had leadership roles at the Club, serving as a member of the Keystone Club and working as a Junior Staff member. He plans to pursue a degree in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Reno, and hopes to continue his education with a Physicians Assistant program following his undergraduate degree.
