Budget for Savings
Save & Invest

Some of your goals may be very personal. Others, like a college education, are important to many people. And there’s at least one goal everyone should have — saving at least 10% of his or her income .

If you’re living at home and aren’t responsible yet for paying for life’s necessities, like rent and meals, you can probably save even more.

Saving doesn’t mean there won’t be money for the things you enjoy right now. You can budget for these things in your spending plan. But putting a priority on saving means you’ll be sure to have money for the really important things in the future — whether that’s a car you need to get to your job, being able to go to college full-time or a trip during summer vacation.

Have you made saving a priority in your budget?
